The white giants stand guard when you step out the door on your skis in the morning. We recommend it: Off to the gondola and into the fun. Because the winter sun, which makes everything glisten and shine, retreats early in the evening.

Excursion tips for rainy weather

Sometimes the weather doesn't play along the way you'd like it to. We won't leave you out in the rain. Why not visit one of the many museums in the region, such as the Winter Sports Museum or the Schladming Town Museum. Sample fine spirits in the Mandlberg mountain pine distillery or go underground in the Obertal tunnels. See and marvel at what you can still experience here.

Salt worlds

Even children know: Valuable treasures are recovered in a mine. The Salzkammergut also glitters and sparkles underground. Salt is still mined here today. However, the salt mines in Hallein, Hallstatt and Altaussee are only for visitors. Those who venture into the tunnels can experience fascinating things such as an old salt lake, a chapel in the mountain and much more.
