Culinary delights

Breakfast

Everything to make your morning a good one.

Sweet and savoury delights on the lavish buffet vie to be our guests’ first pleasures of the day. Many of our pick-me-ups and fillers come from our own farm or from friendly farms in the region.

Homemade jams

Our kitchen staff will spare no effort to provide you with a first-class treat. All our jams are homemade, some of them even using fruit from our own farm.

Hot chocolate at breakfast

Our confectioners start work early in the morning. Enjoy sweet smelling waffles, cakes and other temptations, sometimes still warm when they are served.

Restaurant

A range of specialities to beguile your palate.

In the evenings, we spoil our guests with a six-course dinner. An ensemble of classic dishes and sophisticated creations provide a final daily feast for the senses.

Ambience

The ambience contributes to this pampering, because the eye is known to play an important role when we eat. The characteristic rooms and places range from a rustic farmhouse table to the castle parlour and the elegant Rosenstüberl room.

Pastries and desserts

Our pastry chefs prepare homemade cakes, desserts, and oven-baked specialities every day. For example, delicious Ennstaler Steirerkrapfen fritters. We recommend that you do not count your calories during your holiday.

A brook trout from our farm pool

We have great respect for our ingredients even before we prepare them. Brook trout swim in the farm's pool and cattle graze on our pastures.

Dining à la carte

You don't have to stay at the Pichlmayrgut to enjoy our cuisine. Chef Michael Ferstl and his team prepare a refined menu which varies depending on the season and even makes choosing what to eat a pleasure.

Organic food from the surrounding area

It's well known: fresh produce tastes better. And the freshest produce is fruits ripened in one's own orchard and animals that lived a happy life. We make every effort to source the high-quality ingredients used in our kitchen locally. Your palate will thank us for this choice.

Eating outdoors

During the warmer months, the restaurant's garden and the inner courtyard will draw you to sit outside. A few drops of warm summer rain will not spoil your pleasure and our large awning will shelter you from showers. The hotel village square is charming, even when it is covered with snow: warm yourself with a cup of mulled wine or with hot, fresh chestnuts.

Wine cellar

Wines are like bottled sunny summers.

Our host Christian Steiner has collected a remarkable selection of wines in the hotel’s cellar. Its focus is on Austrian wines, but the collection as a whole is multicultural. Please try it yourself.

In vino veritas (there is truth in wine)

Wine can be fun, but for us it is serious work. Christian Steiner follows most of the wines in the cellar while they are growing in the vineyards. He can talk at length not only about their taste, but also about the philosophies of the winegrowers who produced them. He knows them all personally and is in an intensive, friendly exchange with the vintners.
